Candidate Obama and Black Self-Interests

The closer I look and the more I gather relevant facts, the more I am saddened by the way that seemingly thinking Blacks have turned off their critical filters when it comes to examining the candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama for the U.S. presidency.

I continue to challenge anyone to debate whether or not Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, John Henrik Clarke and Amos Wilson all warned us repeatedly about the rise of assimilationist and accommodating Negro leadership. Across a broad spectrum of critical battle fronts, the African Centered movement has all but collapsed in the aftermath of the deaths of Dr's. Clarke and Wilson. After the peak of impact of the black books movement of the 1980s and 1990s, remaining black-owned bookstores were forced to survive selling the likes of queer fiction, religious fantasy, salacious tales of street life and substance-less feel-good books for an audience increasingly anxious about looming uncertainties regarding the viability of this culture and economy.

In the aftermath of noble but ultimately fruitless mobilizations like the Million Man March, Million Woman March, Million Family March, Millions for Reparations, Millions More Movement, Jena 6 and pickets at the Justice Department, African Americans are now seeminlgy expected to invest their hopes in The Glittering Mulatto (to build upon Dr. Clarke's terminology for historical relevance) in his bid to occupy the blood-stained throne. Yet, Candidate Obama has cut numerous back door deals, of which we have now collected substantial details of bargains agreed-to. IF you are gay, pro-abortion, pro-Wall Street, with the medical pharmaceutical drug complex, pro-military, Zionist, pro-nuclear power, pro-population control in Africa, supportive of the foreign policy initiatives of Brzezinski, PNAC, and domestic policies of the Democratic Leadership Council (who can be credited with selecting Obama along with Deval Patrick and Henry Ford Jr. as their colored darlings) -- IF you are down with one or more of the aforementioned groups, then get ready to celebrate the ascendancy of President Obama and get in line to pick up your door prize. It's happened before when, according to the public record, Sen. Obama sold out the citizens of Illinois for a few shekels from the nuclear power industry lobby and top executives of Exelon Corp.

I have never seen any evidence of the candidate cutting any quid-pro-quo deals with black organizations. His recent finger-wagging diatribe on morality given to a predominantly black audience in Texas doesn't make me feel any better about his judgment. As well, cowering before MSNBC inquisitionist Tim Russert and Candidate Clinton on the degree of his repudiation of Min. Farrakhan is not at all encouraging, especially when the offenses referred are the tired, decades old, out-of-context, so-called "anti-semetic" references to Zionist imperialism and mid-century German nationalists. In street language that is referred to as a "bitch move." I wonder if Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney would have shown more backbone then Candidate Obama? And never forget, the same Zionist lobbying AIPAC that all but destroyed the congressional career of Rep. McKinney and is now aiming to destroy Rep. Kucinich, is pulling for Obama to deliver for them big time. From reading the transcripts of his speech to AIPAC, they have reason to be excited about their upcoming honeymoon with President Obama.

If you believe in real health maintenance, Reparations, affirmative action, the existence of a black nation-within-a-nation, the sanctity of the right of children to be born, Pan Africanism, Maat and fundamental honesty, then you know that Obama will NOT represent your initiatives. If President Obama is willing to arrange for all of us to get $195,000-a-year pay raises as was done for Michelle Obama with the inauguration of Senator Obama, then I'll vote twice for The Glittering Mulatto. I needs me some reparations so's I can get the hell out of America before the mess hits the fan.

Let's separate our emotions from fact and logic. I'm putting my bet on a black president. He will be inaugurated in Accra, Dakar, Kampala, Luanda, Kigali, or another city far, far south of Washington, DC. I feel it would be wrong of me to leave my children, family, associates and all other victims of America's brutal imperialism over her black chattel behind to be further exploited, maimed and denatured by the latest ploy of the ruling oligarchy.

Never forget the time that President Clinton looked straight at the camera, wagged his finger and claimed, "I did not have sex with that woman."

Remember that Obama looked right at the camera and lied, "I do not take money from corporate lobbyists." Let the facts speak to truth.

In the coming weeks and months, and perhaps after his inauguration in January, I will likely be one of his loudest and most pointed critics, though you may in time have to stop by my future residence on Ghana's coastline to be able to catch my critique in person..
